We broadcast our love and came in second place!
CCI awarded second place for #BroadcastYourLove
CCI entered The Caring Force’s #BroadcastYourLove photo contest and came in second place with this entry!
Our three submissions were posted on social media and people had a chance to vote by liking the picture. Of the finalists, winners were chosen at the Provider’s Council.
The photo shows staff members Dawn Maurelli and Stephanie Watts doing the hair of two clients at Fall River Life Skills.
Stephanie, one of the staff members in the photo, said clients often ask to have their hair styled, especially when they’re going somewhere and want to look their best.
“I’m so excited that we were one of the winners,” Stephanie said. “It’s really wonderful.”
Tanya Madeira, Fall River Life Skills program manager, congratulated the staff and said the award was “well deserved.”
“Thanks for all your hard work each and every day with our folks and always going that extra mile…just because!” Tanya said.
Dawn, the other staff member in the picture, said these informal hair and nail salons are almost daily occurrences now. The manicures, hair straightening, and updos give clients confidence and help them feel their best.
“We just try to make them feel good, that’s what it’s all about,” she said. “We don’t do it for recognition.”
