Community Connections Inc., a nonprofit serving people with disabilities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod, announced today that Joyce Lorman has joined its Board of Directors.

“We are thrilled that Joyce has joined us in our mission to provide innovative services and supports for our more than 750 clients,” said David Botting, President and CEO, Community Connections, Inc. “The extraordinary work accomplished by the staff at Community Connections is guided and reinforced by our Board of Directors with members like Joyce who are dedicated to creating opportunities for people with disabilities.”

After receiving her undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy from Boston University, Joyce worked for a number of companies that provide services for clients with brain injuries. She began her career as an Occupational Therapist and ultimately worked her way up to Vice President for Sales and Marketing for The Mentor Network.

In 1999, Joyce earned her MBA from Boston University. At a time when the United States was experiencing a critical shortage of nurses, Joyce launched her own company, Global Healthcare Recruitment, which focused on worldwide recruitment. After 11 years, she sold her company to a larger international nurse recruiting company. For her next adventure, Joyce opened her own art business, Sea Glass Art in Bourne, Massachusetts, where she creates, markets and sells a full range of handmade sea glass art.

In addition to her role on the Board of Directors, Joyce serves on the Community Connections Fund Development Subcommittee to advise on fundraising and development activities for the organization.
