Community Connections Plymouth Day Center Moves to New Building on Resnik Road
Celebrates Grand Opening with State Rep. Matt Muratore and Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce
Community Connections Inc., a nonprofit serving people with disabilities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod, celebrated its Plymouth Day Center’s move to 23 Resnik Road in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The Community Connections program in Plymouth cares for more than 60 clients with developmental disabilities through participation in daytime activities and therapies as well as development of life skills to engage with and live in the community.
While the Plymouth Day Center only moved a short distance from Industrial Park Road to Resnik Road, the new facility is miles away in terms of space. The Day Center features a new training kitchen made possible by a generous gift from John A. Salkowski in honor of his son, John William Salkowski. In addition, the new gym provides a space for physical exercise, including Zumba classes and most recently, a semi-formal dance for clients.
To support the Grand Opening, Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce ambassadors and members turned out in full force and enjoyed a ribbon-cutting, refreshments and tours of the new location. Grand Opening participants included State Rep. Matt Muratore; Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce President, Peter Brown; and Community Connections Board Members Masa Bearse, Joyce Lorman, Allison McEachern, and Scott Vandersall.
For clients and their families, the new Day Center remains close to everything with easy access to the mall and downtown Plymouth, promoting community inclusion and improving the lives of people with disabilities.
“Our clients deserve the best and it was time to give our clients a better space,” said David Botting, President and CEO, Community Connections Inc. “We’re thrilled that this new facility, with more than 7,000 square feet, gives us room to grow and expand.”
