Community Connections Celebrates 30 Year Milestone
South Yarmouth, MA – On Friday, April 8th, Community Connections, Inc. (CCI) celebrated 30 years of service at the Ridge Club in Sandwich, MA. Those familiar with the organization might find it hard to believe that thirty years have passed since CCI was an idea of its founders; today the organization serves over 700 adults with disabilities from Fall River to Cape Cod. CCI’s pursuit of excellence in programming and services has assisted adults with disabilities to lead productive and independent lives and this wouldn’t be possible without a high level of community support for the organization.
The 30th Anniversary Celebration cocktail party honored the 6 employees and over 50 clients that have been with the organization since the beginning. Donna Sabecky, founder and President/CEO of Community Connections said, “It was an amazing evening! We were honored to have so many people turn out to help us celebrate.”
Entertainment was provided by local artist, Reece Arnold, Pianist and feature performer the Berkshire Hills Music Academy Performance Troupe. BHMA is a group of special musicians from the Berkshire Hills Music Academy bringing a unique and profound message about respecting human differences, what is like living with a disability and the effects of bullying. Comprised of eight musicians with disabilities who sing, dance, speak about what is like living with a disability and play many different music instruments throughout the show; the Troupe brings an impactful, thoughtful, entertaining and enlightening experience to their many diverse audiences throughout New England. Their message fit perfectly with the evening.
Proceeds from the anniversary event will go to providing therapeutic services and adaptive equipment needed by adults with disabilities, which provides a higher quality of therapy by increasing range of motion and gross motor skills.
