Life Skills
Our innovative Life Skills program was one of the first to blend Day Habilitation Programs with independent living skills training. Not only do we provide traditional therapeutic services but also services with an emphasis on skill building in the areas of independent living.
Life Skills Services provide individualized, meaningful and supportive programs that allow each member to increase their independence. Community Connections combines traditional therapies, alternative therapies, community activities and life skills training such as meal preparation, health and wellness, money management and personal hygiene. Our staff works with each person to promote a healthy, independent and productive lifestyle, helping everyone reach their goals and exceed their expectations.
The program is geared for individuals who, with support, have the potential for greater independence at home and in their community.

Success Stories/Testimonials:
“My Experience at Community Connections”- Nicole Cummings
I have been at CCI for 11 years; I started out at the Day Hab where they would take me out to do lots of fun things like going to lunch, bowling, and the park. I met lots of nice staff, some of them don’t work at Community Connections anymore but I like the fact that I am able to stay in contact with the other staff members. I feel like many of them are like family to me. The Day Hab staff helped me graduate from that program and become a member of the Life Skills program where I do the same things as I did at Day Hab but better and most importantly with independence!
