Moving Forward - Success for Philip
Philip is a young man living with autism who has overcome personal obstacles to achieve great success. When he was referred to Community Connections to seek employment, he was initially uncooperative and struggled to communicate.
His Employment Specialist Cynthia Tabak welcomed the challenge of working with Philip. Along with his family, Cynthia continued to remind Philip that work was an important tool for him to achieve independence. Surprisingly, Phillip showed great interest in the idea of becoming a greeter at Walmart.
Working with Cynthia, Philip submitted his application and secured an interview. While the process was a great challenge for Philip, he got the job! When she heard the news, Philip’s mom was overjoyed and amazed with his success.
Consistent job support from Cynthia has made all the difference for Philip.
Philip has now been a proud employee of Walmart for more than 5 months.
